No longer is Double Denim the stuff of 90s pop stars’ nightmares or the outfit for a barn-dance, with Denim being one of the trends of Spring/Summer 2015, it’s time to “Double Up”.
Isn’t everything better as a double? A cheese-burger? A bed? or the spirit in your drink? We think so.
Well this year, it’s time to add denim to that list. Long gone are those days of Double Denim being seen as a fashion faux pas, and the infamous “Canadian Tuxedo” worn by Justin Timberlake (Google it for a laugh and an example of an outfit to avoid). Nowadays, if David Beckham wears something, you know we all should too.
Contrast Your Shades
The number one rule to remember is that contrasting shades is the way to go. Wearing a dark pair of jeans with a light denim shirt, is not only easy to do but it’s also effortless style. DO NOT wear a shirt and jeans combo of matching colour, this is the sure-fire way to look, put kindly, a fool. Really, the contrast look is one that anyone can achieve, because we’ve all got a pair of jeans. So as long as you don’t buy a shirt of the same colour, you’re good to go!
The White Tee Is Your Best Friend
Wearing a plain white t-shirt under a denim shirt will help break up the wall of denim, it’s also a clean and fresh look. Whether with a long or short sleeved denim shirt, the white tee is the perfect addition.
